WID-CFL President, Kristi Evans had the privilege of speaking at UCF College of Business – The Exchange, where she shared her career journey with a group of junior and senior business students. She highlighted the strong presence of the M&S community in Central Florida and emphasized their need for business expertise across all organizations—not just within STEM fields. I also pointed out valuable networking opportunities through Women In Defense, Women in Defense – Central Florida Chapter, National Defense Industrial Association – (NDIA)Central Florida Chapter, National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), NATIONAL TRAINING & SIMULATION ASSOCIATION. Kristi highly recommended if they were interested in the M&S field to attend I/ITSEC 2026 https://www.iitsec.org/.
Her advice to the students:
“Understand who you are and what you bring to the world. Research the organizations you’re interviewing with. Remain flexible in how you pursue your professional path. Give back by volunteering and mentoring others.”
The students were highly engaged and posed many insightful questions. Their enthusiasm and insight bode well for a bright future — our next generation of workers and leaders will help shape an extraordinary world.
